Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our plumbing design team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing plumbing systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, healthcare, and institutional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring coordination with all disciplines.
- Perform calculations, equipment selection, and other related design tasks under the guidance of the Project Manager and senior technical staff.
- Execute plumbing system design and drawing preparation under the direction of the Project Manager, including system narratives and system layouts.
- Design various plumbing system types under the guidance of the Project Manager.
- Collaborate with internal design teams, external clients, and consultants, including owners, builders, developers, program managers, contractors, architects, vendors, and others.
- Manage construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including conducting field inspections and detailed inspection reports.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience in commercial, healthcare, or institutional facilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and manufacturer selection software.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
- Experience in healthcare, science, and technology, and/or civic facilities.
- Interest in sustainable design/LEED.
- Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) Certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Medical Gas Certification (ASSE 6060 or similar).
