Impact You Will Have:

The Practical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing patient care by assisting with medical assessments, conducting point-of-care tests, administering treatments, and gathering essential health data.

This position operates under the guidance of a virtual healthcare provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) while delivering care directly to patients in their residences.

Strong organizational skills and a commitment to customer service are crucial for success in this role.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided for this rewarding opportunity to facilitate hospital-level healthcare in the comfort of a patient's home.

Your Responsibilities:

Drive the company vehicle to reach patients at their location and manage the loading and unloading of necessary supplies for daily operations. Properly don and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) while adhering to strict infection control protocols. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers through messaging and video conferencing. Collect vital signs and assist in gathering patient information. Conduct physical examinations using mobile technology and perform additional diagnostic tests and treatments as directed by the virtual provider, in accordance with state regulations.

This may involve, but is not limited to, blood draws, EKGs, splinting, basic wound care, and other patient care tasks essential for a successful visit.

Execute any required point-of-care laboratory testing as instructed by the virtual provider. Provide discharge instructions in collaboration with the virtual provider. Responsible for the proper use, care, and management of medical equipment. Restock and sanitize equipment at the end of each shift. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a successful visit and maintain equipment and vehicles.

Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Valid state license in good standing. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in patient-facing roles. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. BLS certification from the American Heart Association. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Capability to navigate multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment. Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills. Previous experience in comprehensive history gathering and documentation within electronic medical records (EMR). Familiarity with basic procedural skills. Cultural competency - ability to engage with patients and families, fostering rapport and trust, and delivering professional clinical presentations/summaries. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team to deliver care with flexibility and an open mindset. Commitment to continuous learning and strong critical thinking abilities. Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
