Position Overview:
The Mechanical Integrity Specialist plays a crucial role within the reliability team, focusing on enhancing the performance and safety of fixed equipment at TPC Group facilities. This position is essential for supporting maintenance and operational efforts aimed at optimizing the condition of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert technical assistance to Maintenance, Operations, and Project teams.
  • Oversee the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Conduct thorough corrosion assessments and develop strategies for mitigating high-risk areas.
  • Translate corrosion findings into actionable inspection plans and document root causes of equipment failures.
  • Formulate and implement asset maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Utilize life cycle cost analysis to inform repair versus replacement decisions.
  • Drive reliability improvements through the establishment of maintenance programs based on reliability-centered principles.
  • Enhance preventative maintenance protocols by identifying gaps and executing corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with inspection teams to create a multi-year reliability enhancement roadmap.
  • Facilitate training sessions for operational staff and craft personnel.
  • Document and communicate the financial benefits of reliability improvements.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives and participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) studies.
  • Review and develop policies, standards, and procedures related to equipment reliability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to proactively address reliability challenges.
  • Engage in the management of change processes and foster interdepartmental collaboration.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed equipment within the petrochemical sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII, API 510 & 570).

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to mechanical integrity.
  • Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and principles relevant to fixed equipment.
  • Experience with inspection technologies and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP).
