Position Overview
  • We are seeking a Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a dynamic energy organization focused on growth.

  • Your role will involve establishing and overseeing a comprehensive Reliability and Mechanical Integrity program to ensure the mechanical integrity of equipment and systems throughout the organization.
  • Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operational Excellence, you will provide outstanding support to our refining and logistics locations as well as senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing reliability through effective management of personnel, processes, and tools that contribute to dependable refinery operations.
  • Formulate and execute reliability strategies designed to boost the performance, availability, and lifespan of critical equipment and systems.
  • Perform reliability assessments, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Offer specialized knowledge in evaluating, maintaining, and advancing mechanical integrity programs for pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating machinery, and other mechanical assets.
  • Supervise inspections, testing, and evaluations of mechanical systems to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, anticipate failures, and recommend proactive maintenance measures.
  • Develop and implement risk-based inspection (RBI) programs to prioritize maintenance and inspection tasks based on risk evaluations.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all mechanical integrity activities, maintaining records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on advancements in reliability and mechanical integrity technologies and standards to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and mechanical integrity.
  • Implement strategies to optimize maintenance practices, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports on reliability and mechanical integrity performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Ensure that each refining site maintains accurate and current documentation of reliability and mechanical integrity activities.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. Additionally, successful applicants must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Additional qualifications include:
  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in reliability engineering, mechanical integrity, or a related field, preferably within the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Extensive experience in the inspection, assessment, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Strong expertise in reliability analysis, maintenance strategies, and mechanical integrity standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient project management skills with the capability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in reliability engineering tools and mechanical integrity software.
  • A strong work ethic, adaptability, accountability, and resilience.
