About the Role

This Tax Director position involves providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to middle market clients. You will work closely with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, driving success and growth. As a valued member of the engagement team, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading client relationships on day-to-day tax matters with various clients, ranging from middle market to multinational.
  • Consulting on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC740.
  • Researching various tax matters, responding to IRS inquiries, and making recommendations to clients.
  • Coordinating with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives areas.
Responsibilities

You will also be responsible for managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are met. Additionally, you will utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally, with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business; a Master's or advanced degree is desirable.
  • CPA or JD certification required.
  • Eight (8)+ years' experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
  • Five (5)+ years' supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills.
