We're seeking a skilled test equipment design engineer to join our Sensor Test Solutions (STS) Department within Test Equipment Engineering (TEE). This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with a background in digital, analog, RF, or power test equipment design and a desire to apply those skills to developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures.

About the Role

This is an onsite position based in Tewksbury, MA, offering relocation assistance based on candidate eligibility. As a member of our team, you'll be working closely with Hardware Design and Operations teams to ensure the test equipment required for production meets standards for manufacturing.

You will be responsible for developing test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities. These test capabilities may span disciplines (Power, RF, Analog, Digital) and domains (hardware, software, firmware).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from requirements definition through deployment at manufacturing or customer facilities.
  • Work with Hardware Design and Operations teams to ensure the test equipment required for production meets standards for manufacturing.
  • Actively identify test readiness issues and optimizations through development lifecycle.
  • Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities, with limited support from management.
  • Lead a small team to meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Engage in personal technical growth and encourage technical growth in peers and junior engineers.
  • Prepare and clearly present your work product to at status meetings.
  • Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with design engineering teams.

Requirements

Typically requires Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience. Experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to Test equipment development efforts.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering. Experience with technical, project leadership and/or program management experience. Experience with financial reporting activities, including CAM. Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW. Experience with any one of the following: Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design. Experience with VXI / VME / MXI / PXI / CompactPCI application development. Experience with commercial test and measurement equipment. VHDL and embedded system design knowledge.

This ON-SITE position offers a salary range of $77,000 - $163,000 USD.
