Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team at UNC REX Emergency Department. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide competent clinical nursing care to patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and promote a safe and clean hospital environment.
  • Participate in education and research activities, including identifying learning needs, attending education programs, and using patient education materials.
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities, and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • One (1) year of relevant and current experience required.
Work Environment

The REX ED Chest Pain Center is home to the Triangle's first accredited chest pain center. Stroke care is provided to patients by our Joint Commission certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. The REX ED Leadership team is focused on teamwork and positive co-worker recognition for staff in our fast-paced work environment.
