Position Overview: University Housing is currently offering a hiring bonus ranging from $1,000 to $2,000. We are seeking dynamic individuals with outstanding customer service abilities to enhance our custodial teams. Custodial Services Associates play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Our organization operates in a fast-paced setting with high standards of quality, collaborating with residents, students, staff, and guests across the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning duties, manage waste disposal, and ensure building security by executing tasks such as locking doors after hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety in designated areas.
  • Utilize basic cleaning equipment and supplies to service assigned facility areas and manage waste and recyclables.
  • Monitor and secure facility entrances and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Organize supply areas and equipment, keep track of inventory, and request additional supplies as necessary.
  • Document and report maintenance needs, violations, and pest control issues.
  • Ensure walkways are clear of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
  • Prepare and maintain residence hall and dining facilities for residents and guests.
  • Assist residents and guests with event setup and takedown.

Additional Duties:

  • Support and assist in emergency plans and procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and guests to address their needs and service requests.
  • Complete tasks in both occupied and vacant residence hall and dining spaces.
  • Exemplify and promote exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Adhere to established cleaning standards.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: At least 3 months of prior cleaning, custodial, hospitality, or related experience in an academic, commercial, or residential setting is preferred.
  • Preferred: 6 months of continuous employment.

Work Schedule: Various shifts are available, with schedules determined upon hire. First shift positions typically consist of 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Second shift positions usually follow a 10-hour rotating schedule from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.

Compensation: Minimum hourly wage of $15.00, commensurate with qualifications.

Additional Information: A criminal background check will be conducted on all finalists. Candidates may be considered for other or future vacancies within University Housing.
