Position Overview:

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA, Inc.) is seeking a Senior Research Scientist specializing in Adeno-associated virus (AAV) for a CONTRACT opportunity within our esteemed Pharmaceutical Services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive viral vector core services, encompassing the production of lentiviral libraries, AAV generation, and viral vector analytics.
  • Oversee the management of virus inventory and registry utilizing advanced informatics platforms, including the Benchling system.
  • Contribute to the advancement of viral vector technologies and their applications in both in vitro and in vivo genome engineering.
  • Operate autonomously within a vibrant and collaborative research setting.

Essential Qualifications:

  • MS/PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of laboratory research experience.
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture and fundamental molecular biology techniques such as transient plasmid transfection, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and Western blotting.
  • Must possess self-motivation, attention to detail, analytical skills, strong organizational abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with lentivirus or AAV production, CRISPR technology for genome editing is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry operations and electronic lab notebooks is advantageous.
