Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead our Vegetation Management Department in the Boerne / Blanco area. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the Vegetation Management Department, including contract managers, field supervisors, and general foremen
  • Oversee day-to-day activities, including maintenance, safety, customer satisfaction, and adherence to industry standards
  • Administer contracts and assets, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely invoicing
  • Provide effective leadership between customers and within the vegetation/asset management department
  • Ensure field operations meet company standards, including safety and production
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for the vegetation management department; assist with the overall budget for the organization when requested
  • Act as a subject matter expert in all aspects of Vegetation Management programs; monitor and evaluate regulatory changes for compliance and new business/market opportunity or restriction
  • Direct the company's Customer Satisfaction program, including claims management
  • Use expertise and knowledge to anticipate problems and set strategic goals and agendas
  • Oversee hiring, training, employee retainment, and terminations of subordinates
  • Establish a course of action for self and/or others to accomplish a specific goal; plan proper assignments of personnel and appropriate allocation of resources
  • Establish procedures to monitor the results of delegations, assignments or projects
  • Work closely with the office to ensure accurate production tracking
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in an operational leadership role leading large teams (in the vegetation management, construction management, or utility industry highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulatory changes associated with arboriculture industry
  • Knowledge of ANSI Z133 and OSHA standards
  • Effective project management skills
  • Experience in the field of vegetation management for electric distribution and transmission right-of-way
  • Possesses computer and technology skills, including the use of processing software such as Excel, Word, general concepts of Payroll Software, etc.
  • Actively participates in industry organizations and acts as leading expert in this field
  • International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Arborist Certification, Utility Specialist Certification, and/or Certified Pesticide Applicator certification(s) preferred
  • Must possess current, legally valid driver's license and meet the Company's driving record requirements
  • Must pass required background check
