Responsibilities

•Portion and preparation of food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., as prescribed by company specifications
•Preparation of sauces and/or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item
•Performs related work as assigned and as circumstance requires
•Be able to interact with vendors and customers when needed
•Set up food stations and prepare the needed items for service
•Keep all workstations, counters, equipment, and other kitchen areas clean and sanitary according to health and safety guidelines
•Guarantee that food quality is adhered to, properly stored food and items while meeting waste control requirements
•Follow established recipes and prepare foods to presentation standards
•Guarantee that quality food is supplied, by adhering to specified storage and waste control requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products
•Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations
•Ensure that all interactions with visitors, vendors and colleagues are conducted in a professional and friendly manner
•Cook food orders at stations by following established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sauting menu items
•Establish a system of food stations and stock them with all of the necessary ingredients for the shift

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:
•Possess strong work ethic
•Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons
•Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure

Education and Experience:
•Experience in food preparation work is preferred
•Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred
•Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law
•Possess or willing to obtain a valid Food Handler Certificate

Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of standing and preparing and cooking food
•Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
•Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold
•Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
•Previous experience working in food service is preferred
•Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
•Candidates need a strong understanding of compliance with kitchen safety and food storage requirements
•Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic
