Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Radiology Technologist II to join our team.

Position Overview

The Radiology Technologist II will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging. This role is crucial in assisting healthcare professionals in diagnosing various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct both specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxieties and ensure cooperation during procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Utilize immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging results as per physician requests.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient specifics such as height and weight.
  • Position imaging equipment accurately to capture high-quality images.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and emergency departments.
  • Assist radiologists and qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for evaluation by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images, ensuring proper identification and adherence to quality control standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Implement radiation protection techniques to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of work performed.
  • Provide orientation and training to new staff and students.
  • Fulfill additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California).
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • California Mammography Certificate (if applicable).
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
