Position Overview:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. You will utilize safe and efficient practices to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, you will prepare and administer PET radiopharmaceuticals, calculate doses, and ensure accurate calibration of equipment.
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols in the handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Operate and maintain PET radiopharmaceutical infusion systems, performing quality control and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Conduct Point of Care Testing (POCT) for blood glucose levels and GFR, ensuring quality control of the glucometer used.
- Perform PET/CT simulations for radiation therapy planning.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in nuclear medicine is required.
- An associate's degree or graduation from a JRCNMT accredited nuclear medicine program is necessary.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine and/or certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board is required.
- Must hold a State of California Certified Technologist license in Nuclear Medicine (RHN).
