Position Summary

The Investment Portfolio Analytics Specialist role is designed to assist the VP of Investments Portfolio Analytics in enhancing and managing F&G's investment portfolio analytics framework. This position entails the evaluation and validation of risk analytics, generating reports for management and board presentations, and addressing investment and risk requirements. Significant collaboration with teams in investment strategy, risk management, accounting, operations, treasury, and technology will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, reconcile, and maintain investment holdings and transaction records utilizing investment technologies (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin), the accounting system (Clearwater), and data provided by Blackstone.
  • Oversee analytic outputs and model governance, ensuring ownership of the following tasks:
    • Comprehend model capabilities and functionalities across various asset classes.
    • Identify necessary modifications to model inputs.
    • Confirm the accuracy of cash flow and analytic outputs.
  • Collaborate with platform providers to establish standards for internal applications, becoming a super-user and assisting internal teams with system utilization.
  • Utilize internal tools to generate quarterly board reports and materials for investment committees.
  • Develop returns and attribution reports, ensuring metrics are accurate and consistent, including:
    • Portfolio performance relative to targets.
    • Book yield against original sales targets.
    • Insurance premiums received versus invested amounts.
  • Produce projected portfolio cash flows to aid investment accounting, actuarial modeling, asset-liability management, and cash management.
  • Coordinate with partner teams to deliver investment-related data for enterprise reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Middle Office, and Investment Accounting to ensure proper flow of trade activities to downstream systems.
  • Enhance the operational efficiency of the cash management process.
  • Support the investment data workflow, which includes automating existing processes and integrating various systems.
  • Identify and rectify data discrepancies in investment tools, working with other data owners to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Assist in calculating allowances for impairments as part of the CECL process.
  • Support the creation of annual rating agency surveys.
  • Generate management reports detailing total fees incurred for investment management services from external managers.
  • Address ad-hoc analytical requests as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Investments, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in portfolio risk and performance analysis, public and private investment modeling, or investment data management.
  • Proficiency in analytic systems integration and report automation.
  • Possession of CFA, FRM, CIPM, and/or CAIA designations is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Familiarity with Access/database, SQL, and VBA is beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin, and/or Clearwater is preferred.
