About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Associate, Investment Operations to join our team at Principal Financial Group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the lifecycle of investments, ensuring seamless execution and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently process transactions with minimal guidance, including establishing new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and/or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement, and/or the client reporting process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external personnel to educate, provide direction, obtain information, and resolve problems.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to junior team members and serve as the first point of contact for inquiries.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on all primary job functions.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
  • 2+ years' work experience in investment/mutual fund operations or a related field.
  • Knowledge of financial services and investment-related terminology.
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, time management, planning, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Consistently seek opportunities to acquire new skills and apply them to move business forward.
  • PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Power Query experience is preferred.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and independently address problems and potential symptoms of problems and inquiries and propose solutions.
  • Must have the ability to take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently.
