About the Opportunity
Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a world-leading in vitro diagnostics company, is seeking a Benefits Administrator to support its People & Culture team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for administering individual and group benefit programs in the U.S. and Canada, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
The Role
The Benefits Administrator will provide excellent customer service to the organization and its employees, ensuring that they have a comprehensive understanding of the benefits package. You will be responsible for:
- Administering all U.S. and Canada benefit programs, including Health & Welfare and retirement plans.
- Participating in the education of employees at new hire and throughout the year, assisting them in understanding the benefit offerings.
- Serving as the first point of contact for employee benefit issues, responding to questions and working with payroll or Sr. Manager of Benefits for issue resolution.
- Assisting with escalations from Human Resource Business Partners and other employees.
- Maintaining employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.
- Participating in benefit planning for subsequent years.
- Explaining employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing written and graphic announcements, presentations, and explanations, and responding to requests for information.
- Leading annual benefits open enrollment, including participating in system testing and development of employee communication & education.
- Performing subsequent internal audits related to the annual benefits open enrollment.
- Assisting with creating, coordinating, and executing communication campaigns and other required notices for employees (e.g., SPDs, SMMs) and other stakeholders on benefit programs.
- Crafting content and communications for employees that are approachable, succinct, and reflect the company culture, including monthly communication to employees highlighting benefits programs.
- Engaging with all U.S. and Canada benefits vendors.
- Supporting and participating in ongoing Benefits and HR initiatives and projects.
- Helping develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package, including new hire orientation, open enrollment, training material for Benefit Admin system.
- Completing benefits surveys.
- Researching internal and external questions related to benefits, Qualifying Life Events, and eligibility.
- Responding to queries from employees for benefits questions and navigating the systems.
- Performing various audits throughout the plan year to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Staying current with changing regulations and current trends in benefits, with a focus on product development, delivery, and support, and utilizing key technologies.
- Backing up the Associate Benefits Administrator when needed, including new hire orientation around Benefits.
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
The Individual
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in employee benefits.
- Solid understanding of different benefit plans (retirement, health, dental, and vision insurance, etc.).
- Strong computer skills, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience (i.e., MS Office).
- Understanding of data recording and analysis.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be very well organized, accurate, thorough, and monitor work for quality.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to prioritize required.
- Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personalities. Strong interpersonal skills are a necessity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday benefits administrator experience.
Work Environment
This role requires minimal travel and occasional light lifting of files and related materials. The majority of the time will be spent at the desk on a computer, performing analytical work.
