Restaurant Manager Job Summary

A Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a high-end restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service and a positive work environment for employees. Key responsibilities include managing front-of-house staff, maintaining high standards of service, and acting as a liaison between team members and management.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, beverage program, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food service regulations, proper food handling procedures, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional operational skills and a commitment to delivering impeccable service.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement effective training programs for front-of-house staff.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, reinforcing company policies and procedures to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Oversee all areas of service, including floor management, guest relations, and sales culture development.
  • Assist the General Manager with scheduling, purchasing, labor management, and financial planning.
  • Investigate and resolve guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to restaurant repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations by clearly communicating and reinforcing standards and procedures to all staff members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience

A degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in a high-end restaurant environment is essential.

Language Skills

The ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively with colleagues and guests is crucial.

Mathematical Skills

The ability to perform basic mathematical functions related to the essential functions of the job is required.

Reasoning Ability

The ability to carry out detailed instructions, problem-solve in standardized situations, and make sound decisions is essential.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

The employee is responsible for securing and maintaining current status of all required certificates, licenses, or registrations, including a valid Food Handler Card and a valid Alcohol Awareness Training Certificate.
