Job Title: Maintenance Operator

Harvard University is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operator to join our Energy & Facilities team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance operations, you will be responsible for providing initial response, triage, stabilization, and/or repair for all types of building infrastructure maintenance requests, with a focus on HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, adjust, modify, and repair all types of boilers, heating systems, cooling systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Interpret mechanical plans and prints and update as necessary.
  • Monitor, query, and report on the status of building systems managed by DDC technology.
  • Initiate follow-up actions as required.
  • Provide responsive customer support in all phases of building maintenance and operations.
  • Assist and advise customers on maintenance solutions and provide follow-up on progress and status of work.
Requirements:
  • Five years of related experience in the maintenance and operation of complex building system infrastructure.
  • Current State HVAC license (or equivalent).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic proficiency and understanding of Windows-based software applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic mail, MS Office, and related desktop and handheld devices and applications.
  • Familiarity with smartphone technology and willingness to expand skills with handheld device use as required.
Working Conditions:

This position is based primarily on-campus, in Massachusetts. This may include in-person during emergency situations (if applicable). Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
