Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a leading provider of community healthcare services, dedicated to delivering exceptional care to underserved populations. We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for greeting patients, registering them, and updating their information in our electronic record keeping system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the patient check-in and check-out process, ensuring accurate identification verification and demographic information.
- Collect specified co-pays and payments from patients, while screening for eligibility and financial assistance.
- Follow policies and procedures for collecting and handling cash.
- Ensure patient information is accurately and timely entered into the Electronic Health Record.
- Confirm, request, and process referrals and authorizations for specialty services.
- Contact patients to schedule appointments and make reminder/recall notifications.
- Respond to customer billing and payment inquiries, escalating issues as needed.
- Display a proactive approach to customer service, listening to patients and identifying their needs.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as scanning information and tracking data.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant Certification, CNA certification, or Medical Terminology course preferred.
- 1-year experience in community healthcare preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
