Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Services Representative to join our team at San Ysidro Health Center. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register new patients, obtain and verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate and timely entry into our electronic health record system.
  • Assess patient financial responsibility, collect co-pays and deductibles, and provide information on available funding resources.
  • Use payer resources and websites to explore and access eligibility, initiate referrals, and determine patient eligibility for Sliding Fee Discounts Program.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, resolve issues and/or barriers, and provide guidance and direction to visitors and patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic and fiscal information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of customer service experience or successful completion of internship at San Ysidro Health Center preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) required; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to organizational changes, and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. May be required to work evenings and/or weekends or clinics outside of assigned clinic. Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs and work in a sitting position for extended periods.
