Fiber Design Engineer

Omni Fiber is seeking a skilled Fiber Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and planning fiber optic networks, including backbone, distribution, and last-mile connections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and plan fiber optic networks, including detailed network layouts, documentation, and support for field operations.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal network routes and placements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Perform thorough reviews of submitted designs from contracting groups.
  • Utilize GIS and CAD software to develop, draft, and refine network designs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in fiber optic network design or a related role.
  • Ability to travel a few times a month.
  • Proficiency in GIS, ArcGIS, CAD, and other design software tools.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, including splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and various FTTx architectures.
