Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and analytical IT Risk Management Specialist to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will be tasked with identifying, evaluating, and addressing IT-related risks that may affect our organization's operations and goals. Your expertise will be essential in executing risk management strategies, assessing controls, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry practices. This position presents an exciting opportunity to utilize your knowledge in risk evaluation, IT security, and compliance to protect our organization from emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Evaluation and Analysis:
    • Perform comprehensive risk evaluations and analyses of IT systems, processes, and infrastructure to uncover potential risks and weaknesses.
    • Assess the effectiveness of current controls and security measures in mitigating identified risks.
    • Formulate risk mitigation strategies and recommendations based on evaluation results and industry best practices.
  2. Risk Management Framework:
    • Establish and uphold an IT risk management framework and methodologies in line with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
    • Develop risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent risk assessment and treatment.
    • Track and report on risk exposure, trends, and mitigation efforts to stakeholders and management.
  3. Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
    • Guarantee compliance with pertinent regulatory standards, laws, and industry practices related to IT risk management and cybersecurity.
    • Conduct evaluations and audits to confirm adherence to compliance frameworks and internal policies.
    • Collaborate with internal audit teams and external auditors to address findings and implement corrective measures.
  4. Incident Response and Continuity Planning:
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of IT incident response plans and procedures to manage security incidents and breaches.
    • Engage in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts.
    • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning to ensure resilience against IT-related disruptions.
  5. Security Awareness and Training:
    • Foster IT risk awareness throughout the organization via training programs, workshops, and communication.
    • Educate employees on IT risk management principles, practices, and policies.
    • Conduct risk-focused training sessions and tabletop exercises to enhance organizational preparedness.
  6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work collaboratively with IT teams, business units, and senior management to assess risk tolerance and prioritize risk mitigation efforts.
    • Effectively communicate risk assessment findings, recommendations, and risk profiles to stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to cultivate a risk-aware culture and support risk management initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field (Master's degree or certification in risk management preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience as an IT Risk Analyst, IT Auditor, or similar role in risk assessment and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Experience with risk assessment tools, techniques, and risk analysis methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
