About the Role

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing specialized supportive counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders and behavioral health diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to determine service needs and progress with consumer treatment goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling services to consumers, including group and individual sessions.
  • Monitor consumer progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical services and outcomes.
  • Document all services provided in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a human services field (e.g., psychology, sociology) or related field.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • LCDC license and certification as an Alcoholism/Drug Abuse Counselor (TAADAC/NAADAC recognized by the State of Texas).
  • At least two years of experience as an Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency Counselor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
