Job Overview

Summary Objective:

The Aquatic Safety Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Aquatics Director with the everyday management of the aquatic department while ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the aquatic facilities for all members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional fitness experience to every member and guest.
  • Oversee pool areas, enforcing safety protocols and regulations in a courteous manner.
  • Ensure a hygienic and secure environment.
  • Maintain constant vigilance over the pool and surrounding areas.

Job Duties:

  • Welcome all members, guests, and visitors upon entering the pool area.
  • Conduct rescues and execute proper follow-up procedures, including the use of first aid equipment.
  • Monitor water quality in pools, adjusting chemical levels as necessary, and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the pool, deck, and equipment areas.
  • Assist with equipment upkeep and promptly report any malfunctions or issues.
  • Address inquiries or feedback from members and guests, providing referrals as needed.
  • Enforce the aquatics schedule professionally.
  • Administer swimming assessments to evaluate patrons' swimming abilities.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to employee conduct and ethical standards.
  • Understand and comply with club policies, emergency procedures, and facility protocols.
  • Follow up on daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
  • Assist the Aquatics Director with lifeguard scheduling and coverage of open shifts.
  • Support the Aquatics Director in training new hires and conducting in-service training for lifeguards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Be available for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required.

Experience and Certifications:

  • Current lifeguarding certification, including professional rescue.
  • Current pool operators certification required (if not currently certified, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment).
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in an aquatics environment.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands necessary to successfully perform essential job functions may include:

  • Bending and extending body movements.
  • Mobility across various surfaces.
  • Using upper extremities for various tasks.
  • Exerting force to move objects as needed.
  • Communicating effectively in a loud environment.
