Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Wauseon Machine / McAlister Design and Automation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our shop floor, ensuring the successful completion of customer requirements, and driving key metrics such as safety, quality, labor productivity, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop floor personnel, including machinists, set-up personnel, and shipping staff.
  • Develop and implement daily schedules and work orders to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP platforms to plan and manage production activities, providing timely information and updates to key stakeholders.
  • Balance current and future customer demands with shop floor and supplier capacities to ensure successful completion of customer requirements.
  • Participate in planning meetings with key stakeholders to identify and resolve scheduling issues, ensuring jobs are completed on time and meeting customer quality requirements.
  • Develop and oversee training plans for new hires and resolve employee issues.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in operations management or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Blueprint reading ability and knowledge of GD&T (preferred).
  • Technical experience in machining and assembly (preferred).
  • LEAN manufacturing (preferred).
