Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Wauseon Machine / McAlister Design and Automation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our shop floor, ensuring the successful completion of customer requirements, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to our shop floor personnel, machinists, and set-up teams to ensure efficient and effective production processes.
• Scheduling and Planning: Coordinate and provide daily schedules and work orders to manufacturing teams, ensuring timely completion of jobs and meeting customer quality requirements.
• ERP/MRP Management: Utilize our ERP/MRP platform (JobBoss) to plan activities, provide timely information, and updates to key stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Capacity Planning: Balance current and future customer demands with shop floor and supplier capacities to ensure successful completion of customer requirements, including delivery, quality, and cost.
• Collaboration and Communication: Participate in planning meetings with key stakeholders to proactively identify scheduling issues and ensure jobs are completed on time while meeting customer quality requirements.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Drive and monitor KPIs such as Safety, Quality, Labor Productivity, and Cost Control to ensure business growth and improvement.
• Human Resources Support: Assist the Human Resources department with recruiting new hires, developing training plans, and resolving employee issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Post-secondary degree in Operations Management or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 3 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T (preferred).
• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional organization, planning, and time management skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently, and strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
