Position Overview

The role involves delivering personal assistance and support services to clients within the SAFE HOMECARE established Personal Care Program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Completion of any mandated training is necessary.
  • Applicants must be bondable and pass various background checks, including Criminal Background Investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record, and Professional and Personal Reference Checks.
  • Consent to random drug and alcohol testing is required.
  • Reliable transportation is essential, along with punctuality and dependability in fulfilling assignments.
  • A valid driver's license and automobile insurance are mandatory.
  • Completion of SAFE HOMECARE training and orientation is required.
  • Applicants must adhere to SAFE HOMECARE policies and procedures, function independently in home settings, and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and administrative staff.
  • A genuine concern for helping others and high moral standards of honesty and integrity are essential.
  • An energetic personality is important for positive client interactions.
  • Accountability to oneself and the organization is expected.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out duties as outlined in the personal care Service Plan.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and ambulation.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and their families.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and changing bed linens.
  • Support nutritional needs through meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and kitchen cleanup.
  • Remind clients to take their self-administered medications.
  • Observe and report any changes in clients' mental, physical, or emotional conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients, families, and coworkers.
  • Participate in training, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested.
  • Complete required documentation of services delivered and submit it to the office daily.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Work primarily in client homes and during transportation.
  • Potential exposure to blood or other body fluids may occur.


Physical Demands

  • The position requires moderate physical exertion, including driving, assisting clients with transfers, and light housekeeping.
  • Regular activities include standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
