Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cable Technician to join our BTS Department in Austin. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation and testing of network cabling, interpreting CAD design drawings, and adhering to BICSI - EIA - TIA specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and testing of network cabling, including Cat.5e, Cat.6, Fiber Optic, Coax, Risers, and Multi-Pair Tie Cables
  • Interpretation of CAD design drawings and adherence to BICSI - EIA - TIA specifications
  • Understanding and knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and voice and data applications
  • Installation of patch panels, punch down 66/110 blocks, 110-patch panel, and various data and voice jacks
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with commercial cable installation
  • Previous experience with network cables (Cat5, Cat6, etc.)
  • Experience with closet work a plus
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Clean driving record required
  • Have vehicle in good working condition
  • Must have working mobile phone
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Must have their own tools within 60 days of employment
Work Environment

The employee will regularly work in inclement weather conditions and frequently work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee will occasionally work in high, precarious places and be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
