We are seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrical Specialist to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our electrical maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing expert electrical work of the journeyman level in the installations, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution equipment ranging from 480 volts to 5 kilovolts and up.
Key Responsibilities- Performs routine tasks on electrical equipment and systems, including installations, repairs, maintenance, and services of emergency power distribution equipment, including generators, transfer switches, metal clad switchgear, circuit breakers, fuel systems, and related low voltage and medium voltage equipment and distribution systems.
- Power monitoring and reporting: Installs temporary recorders on equipment and provides reports on operating conditions to supervisors.
- Emergency response: Responds to emergency calls regarding all electrical distribution into buildings in the entire Houston area.
- Project support: Provides project support, commissioning, inspections, and coordination of outages of electrical systems for both O&M and Project Management groups.
- Corrective and preventive maintenance tasks: Uses electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical equipment and support other departments in troubleshooting their equipment.
- Troubleshoots electrical distribution equipment and replaces or repairs defective components.
- Reads, interprets, and field verifies electrical schematics, blueprints, and floor plans.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized apprenticeship.
- Eight years of experience in journeyman level electrical work involving interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment.
- Licensed journeyman electrician or Master electrician in the State of Texas.
