Job Summary:

The Laboratory Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a culture of quality and innovation. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as expertise in laboratory procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and State regulations
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of laboratory personnel
  • Manage laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Develop and implement training programs for laboratory personnel
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with upper management to develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 4 years of experience in toxicology
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Expertise in laboratory procedures and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and data analysis

Work Environment:
  • Indoor temperature-controlled environment
  • Occasional exposure to biological and chemical hazards

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent carrying of objects up to 10 pounds
  • Pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, bending, and sitting for extended periods
