Job Description:

At the Department of State Health Services, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Management Professional to lead our team in the Lead Screening Laboratory. As a key member of our Clinical Chemistry Branch, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the technical activities of the laboratory, including quality assurance, and ensure the accuracy of analytical procedures.
  • Manage the Lead Screening workload, coordinating with laboratory and support service areas to ensure timely completion of daily analysis.
  • Supervise personnel, reviewing and approving staff leave requests, and ensuring compliance with agency leave policies.
  • Participate in the review of written protocols annually, ensuring changes are documented and approved by the Branch Manager.
  • Develop new procedures and adjust existing ones to maintain testing accuracy, ensuring all written protocols are followed and within regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide excellence in customer service, maintaining effective communication and interacting with other testing personnel, team leaders, and managers in a teamwork environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in personnel management, preferably in a Clinical/Analytical Laboratory setting.
  • Customer service, training, and use of personal computer operations and software applications, such as Microsoft and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
  • Prefer experience in pre-analytical, supervisory experience in a Clinical/Analytical Laboratory, and laboratory testing, including chemistry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and other relevant areas.
Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
