Special Education Teacher: Fostering Academic Excellence

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Resource Instructor to join our team at Community Academies of New Orleans Inc.
As a key member of our instructional staff, you will play a vital role in providing ELA/SS instruction and support to students with disabilities, enabling them to participate independently in the regular classroom.
Responsibilities:- Instruct students in developing skills and knowledge to maximize their academic potential, based on assessment needs
- Collaborate with the IEP team to create a functional and meaningful learning environment
- Assess student needs, goals, and objectives to inform individualized educational plans
- Design and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique needs
- Work closely with parents and school staff to track student progress and develop targeted interventions
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Two years of experience in special education teaching
- Valid Louisiana state special education certificate
- Strong knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn and grow through coaching and feedback
- Competitive salary range $60,000 - $80,000 per year
