Special Education Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant Teacher to join our team at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans. As a key member of our education staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students with special needs.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with classroom activities, planning and implementing lesson plans, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to create a supportive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or Associate's degree with relevant experience and certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an early childhood setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging and interactive lessons, and adapt to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with educational software and technology, such as Microsoft Office and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS).
$45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
