Innovative K-4 Special Education Teacher for ReNEW Schools

ReNEW Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher Case Manager to join our team. As an integral part of our student support team, you will be responsible for ensuring the growth of students with exceptionalities in a self-contained community-based instruction setting for grades K-4.

As a Special Education Teacher Case Manager, you will co-teach, adapt lessons, manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and track data toward student learning goals. You will collaborate with co-teachers and paraprofessionals to create a joyful, safe, and inclusive environment for students and adults.
ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will include:
- Creating a culture of learning by leading or co-leading and implementing a student-led, positive, and safe classroom and school-wide environment.
- Teaching using your content expertise in English Language Arts (ELA) and/or Mathematics, strategically modifying Louisiana Tier I curriculum to meet student learning goals.
- Providing targeted feedback to students by asking pertinent, scaffolded follow-up questions that affirm correctly understood content, clarify misunderstood content, or extend students' thinking.
- Using data to inform instruction, assessing qualitative and quantitative student data to draw insightful conclusions and adjust instruction as necessary.
You will also be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Special Education Coordinator and general educators to provide specialized instruction, technical expertise, and supplementary aids and resources to ensure students with exceptionalities access to the general education curriculum.
- Developing IEPs based on information from special education evaluations, progress monitoring data, and input from IEP team members.
- Updating and monitoring a comprehensive data tracking system to inform effective and ongoing decision-making about individual student program adjustments.
- Acting as a case manager for special education students, including progress monitoring toward IEP goals, scheduling and leading IEP review meetings, and partnering with students, families, and related service providers to support special education students through a whole-child approach.
We seek a candidate with a strong growth mindset, a passion for serving students with exceptionalities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality instruction. A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience with accommodation and modification of instruction to ensure access to Tier I curriculum for students with exceptionalities and deep content knowledge in Pre-Kindergarten.
Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, individual coaching, and a supportive work environment.
