Job Summary

As a Charge Nurse at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and coordination of unit staffing while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assigns and directs nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Assesses daily patient care needs, developing and distributing patient care assignments for optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure quality patient outcomes.
  • Evaluates patient care effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Responds to patient care complaints through established channels.
  • May provide input for hiring, training, and development of staff.
Requirements:
  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education.
  • One year of registered nurse experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant use of speech, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs, sitting, reaching, and keyboard use.
  • Frequent use of vision, depth perception, smell, and hearing.
  • Occasional lifting/moving patients, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
Professional Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
Work Environment:

Evening Shift, Employee, Nursing - RN department, 40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:
