Position Overview
The Contract Management Specialist II will play a vital role in supporting acquisition initiatives for specialized government programs.

This position involves assisting the Contracting Officer in acquiring essential national security resources by overseeing contract administration from requirement definition to contract fulfillment, while ensuring compliance with relevant federal and defense acquisition policies.

Additionally, the Contract Management Specialist II will mentor junior staff and conduct quality reviews of their work products.

Key Responsibilities
As a Contract Management Specialist II on our team, you will:

- Collaborate with the Contracting Officer to strategize and manage acquisitions for a diverse range of products and services.

- Provide comprehensive contract support, including market research, solicitation documentation preparation, proposal compliance reviews, cost/price evaluations, negotiation assistance, and invoice processing.

- Integrate acquisition planning, requirements development, and resource allocation into actionable project plans aligned with program goals.

- Facilitate effective program execution and informed decision-making.

- Assist in developing acquisition strategies, determining contract methods/types, and managing contract administration tasks, including maintaining contract files and preparing modifications.

- Communicate project statuses and challenges, and formulate acquisition and policy recommendations.


Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting within the private sector or as a GS Contract Specialist or higher.

- Additional education or advanced certifications may substitute for experience, subject to customer approval.


Required Experience
- Proven expertise in managing contract actions from inception to execution.

- Extensive background in source selections, cost or price analysis, negotiations, and contract documentation preparation.

- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the DoD/IC or related industry, including a minimum of 1 year in a specialized environment within the last 5 years.

- Proficiency in ConWrite is preferred.

- Must possess an active and valid driver's license and an active TS/SCI clearance.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience holding a warrant and conducting source selections.

- Familiarity with large-scale procurement processes.

- Ability to successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly).

- Comprehensive knowledge of contracting for various products and services, including major systems, research and development (R&D), and complex programs, utilizing a wide range of contracting methodologies as per the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other applicable guidelines.

- Capacity to work under tight deadlines with high performance expectations.

- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
