Salary Range: A reasonable estimate for this position is $52,409-$54,849.

Applications are invited for the role of Coordinator of Academic Programs in Introductory Biology within the College of Biological Sciences.

Position Description:

The primary responsibilities include training and overseeing graduate student instructors for laboratory sessions in a comprehensive Tree of Life course.

Additional responsibilities encompass mentoring undergraduate learning assistants and offering technical and logistical support to course lecture instructors.

The Coordinator will manage the laboratories, supervise teaching assistants and support staff, and deliver instruction once annually, while also contributing to the enhancement of the course.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of contemporary biology, particularly concerning prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, alongside a keen interest in pedagogical methods and effective teaching strategies.

An interest in plant and/or animal phylogenetics is advantageous but not mandatory. This is a 9-month position with an initial two-year appointment.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: A master's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field is required at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications: An interest in plant and/or animal phylogenetics is preferred. A PhD in Biological Sciences or a related field is also preferred.
