Assistant Professor in Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Davis, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociocultural Anthropology. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field and a rigorous, theoretically and methodologically innovative field research agenda that engages contemporary issues and challenges of global significance.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong research focus and a commitment to teaching and mentoring students. The position involves teaching four courses per academic year at the introductory, advanced undergraduate, and graduate level. Requirements
The successful candidate must have a completed Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field by the first day of courses. The applicant's scholarship must align with the area of anthropology that is the focus of this search. The position is a nine-month appointment within the Department of Anthropology, with a proposed start date of July 1, 2025.
