Position Summary

In the role of Program Services Coordinator – Match Support, you will serve as the primary contact for Bigs, Littles, and their families, ensuring that the mentoring relationship is robust, secure, engaging, and meaningful for all involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly communicate with volunteers, parents, and youth in accordance with agency standards through phone calls, emails, in-person visits, and match events to enhance the quality and longevity of the match relationship while identifying any safety concerns.
  • During each match interaction, collect relevant information to assess the current status and needs of the match, and propose an action plan to facilitate a positive experience for all parties.
  • Document all match interactions promptly and accurately, adhering to BBBS of America and agency standards.
  • Promote empathy, communication, and collaboration among match participants from diverse backgrounds.
  • Work closely with other staff members across various departments to maximize successful matches between volunteers and children.
  • Inform matches about activities, events, and opportunities available through the agency.
  • Refer volunteers, youth, and parents to additional services as necessary.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and participating in agency-sponsored activities for Bigs and Littles.
  • When a match needs to be closed, conduct thorough discussions with the volunteer, youth, and guardian, and complete match closure documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate or lead special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 months of relevant experience, an Associate's degree or two years of higher education with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage large groups and individuals professionally and empathetically.
  • Availability for full-time work, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Access to reliable internet and phone connections for remote work or the ability to commute to designated offices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience working with and motivating a diverse range of individuals, including youth and adults, particularly in urban and immigrant communities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, creativity, a positive attitude, and a willingness to tackle challenges.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a variety of responsibilities in a dynamic setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with a proactive approach.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Outlook, and Teams is advantageous.
