Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Security Director or designated supervisor, the Security Specialist is responsible for upholding hospital regulations and ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves monitoring assigned areas, reporting safety hazards, and addressing any unusual occurrences through regular patrols. The specialist will also investigate complaints and assist in managing patient behavior when necessary, all while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the safety and security of the hospital premises, including all buildings and surrounding properties.
  2. Conduct regular patrols, focusing on areas with known security concerns.
  3. Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, following established emergency protocols.
  4. Identify and report unsafe conditions to prevent theft, injuries, or damage.
  5. Assist in managing unruly individuals and provide support during medical emergencies.
  6. Maintain accurate security logs and incident reports in a timely manner.
  7. Provide patient transport and valet services as needed.
  8. Utilize advanced security systems for dispatching personnel and documenting incidents.
  9. Conduct investigations into thefts and other complaints, collaborating with law enforcement as necessary.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and maintain all required certifications.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required. A bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service. A valid driver's license with a clean record is mandatory.
