Role Responsibilities:

The Fabrication Team Lead is tasked with overseeing daily team operations to guarantee timely completion of schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires active participation in project tasks alongside management duties, ensuring that the team is well-coordinated and efficient.

Daily Activities Include:

  • Communicating daily production details to the team, including schedules, material shortages, and priorities.
  • Reporting team status to the Production Manager, highlighting any production constraints.
  • Supervising the welding and fabrication team's activities to uphold craftsmanship quality.
  • Ensuring team members are well-informed about procedural updates and instructions.
  • Monitoring safety and quality standards to meet job requirements.
  • Training and mentoring team members on project tasks, assessing their skills and development needs.
  • Maintaining project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinating project tasks with the production team to align with project timelines.
  • Providing support to team members as needed.
  • Assisting with tool setups and changeovers to minimize downtime.
  • Reviewing project status with the Production Manager to determine necessary actions.
  • Continuously enhancing procedures and processes to ensure safety and quality.
  • Coaching operators to identify and resolve common equipment issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of arms, hands, and legs to operate machinery and computers.
  • Capability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software; familiarity with Infor Visual is advantageous.
  • Prior management experience is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs.
  • Certification in D1.1 structural welding.
  • Willingness to learn, with strong listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and a sense of responsibility.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude towards colleagues and clients.
  • Patience and perseverance to see complex projects through to completion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CNC machine tools.
  • Expertise in metal manufacturing is required.
  • Familiarity with Nema Standards and UL Listings is preferred.
  • Electro-mechanical experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to creating and improving systems.
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience is beneficial.
  • Willingness to undergo background and drug testing.

Compensation Range:

The compensation for this role ranges from $33 to $38 per hour, with Restricted Stock Units included in all offers. The final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
