Job Description

Position Overview:

We are in search of a knowledgeable Building Envelope Specialist to enhance our organization. The successful applicant will possess a solid foundation in building envelope assessments, evaluations, documentation, and oversight of construction projects. This position demands a meticulous professional capable of juggling various assignments, engaging specialized contractors, and ensuring excellence in both new and ongoing construction endeavors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess Building Envelope Issues: Execute comprehensive assessments to pinpoint the origins of building envelope issues. Evaluate the problems and devise strategies to avert future occurrences.

Perform Building Envelope Evaluations: Conduct a range of evaluations, including moisture intrusion resistance, adhesion testing of coatings, and air leakage assessments to measure building envelope efficacy.

Draft Assessment Reports: Create thorough reports that effectively convey the causes of building envelope issues and offer practical suggestions for remediation.

Develop Drawings and Specifications: Generate detailed drawings and specifications for bidding purposes. Ensure these documents are accurate to attract and direct specialized contractors.

Oversee Bidding Process: Manage the bidding phase, focusing on attracting and securing specialized contractors for building envelope repair or restoration tasks.

Supervise Construction Contracts: Oversee construction phase contracts, guaranteeing that all work meets the highest standards. This includes supervising repair or replacement projects.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Conduct quality assurance and quality control activities for new construction projects. This encompasses site inspections, evaluations, and reviewing drawings to ensure adherence to specifications.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in building envelope consulting or a related discipline.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in building envelope technologies are advantageous.

Skills:

· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficient in producing detailed assessment reports and technical drawings.

· Familiarity with various building envelope evaluation techniques.

· Capacity to manage multiple assignments and adhere to deadlines.

· Certifications: Relevant certifications in building envelope inspection and evaluation are preferred.

· Software Proficiency: Knowledge of CAD software, project management tools, and other pertinent software applications.
