Position Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Family Child Care Program Coordinator is essential in enhancing the quality of family child care services within the designated region. This role encompasses outreach, coordination, and facilitation of various initiatives aimed at empowering and educating family child care providers to ensure the best care and development for children.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline, or a High School Diploma with at least 7 years of experience in the Early Childhood sector. Bilingual (Spanish) abilities are advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education, with a preference for administrative experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach and Engagement

  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with Family Child Care Providers, offering support, resources, and guidance.
  • Conduct outreach initiatives to identify and recruit new family child care providers.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to promote the Family Child Care Program and its advantages.

Program Support

  • Act as the primary contact for Family Child Care providers involved with the program, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to providers in navigating the program.
  • Help coordinate and facilitate program-related activities, including professional development workshops, meetings, and networking events.

Provider Network Development

  • Build and maintain a network of Family Child Care Providers, fostering collaboration and community engagement.
  • Organize regular meetings for providers.
  • Serve as a liaison between family child care providers, other staff, and relevant stakeholders to advocate for their needs and interests.

ADDITIONAL TASKS

  • Maintain accurate records of provider interactions, program participation, and outcomes using appropriate databases and software.
  • Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and presentations for program funders and directors.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of program policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Participate actively in strategic planning meetings.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or program director for the benefit of the program.

  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Awareness of the unique challenges faced by families in low-income situations.
  • Reliable transportation with appropriate liability insurance coverage.
  • Physical capability to perform standard daily work routines, including walking, sitting, lifting, and driving.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions accurately.

EMPLOYMENT SCREENING

Possession of a valid Driver's License and insured vehicle for job-related travel, along with a driving record check, criminal record check, and randomized drug screening.
