Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Development Specialist to join our team at Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality home-based services to families, supporting their role as their child's first and most important teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans for children and families, focusing on enhancing their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Provide ongoing, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services, including educational activities and opportunities for parents.
  • Engage in a warm and accepting relationship with parents, supporting a strong and secure attachment between the parent and child.
  • Collaborate with parents to evaluate children's development, make referrals to appropriate agencies when needed, and ensure linkage with providers of early intervention services.
  • Plan and implement socialization opportunities for families and children, promoting child and parent education and encouraging good early childhood practices.
  • Support parents in their involvement in Parent committees, Policy Council, Health Advisory Board, and other parent involvement activities.
  • Participate in training and continuing educational opportunities to enhance professional practice and improve services to low-income families.
  • Provide social services to parents, helping the family move towards self-sufficiency, including educational and employment services as appropriate.
  • Develop knowledge of and working relationships with community agencies and resources.
  • Plan activities and provide educational resources and opportunities for prenatal women during visits, promoting healthy pregnancy outcomes.
  • Transport Early Head Start parents when necessary.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans for transitioning children and families out of Early Head Start services.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree minimum in Early Childhood or development (or other equivalent), Early Childhood Certifications, or CDA equivalents.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent accepted with willingness to complete ECE Certification or CDA requirements upon hire.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. They will also be required to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols.
