Pump Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic to join our team at DXP Enterprises. As a Pump Mechanic, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and evaluating the condition of industrial process rotating equipment, primarily pumps. Your expertise will be utilized to compile and write thorough job inspection reports, and you will work on gearboxes, compressors, and other process rotating equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Use micrometers and dial indicators to evaluate equipment condition
  • Utilize various mechanics' hand tools, presses, torches, and pullers
  • Align pumps and motors
  • Rebuild mechanical seals
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of fits and clearances
  • Adept at reading micrometers and other measuring instruments
  • Good math skills
  • Accomplished at writing inspection reports
  • High school degree
  • At least 4 years of experience
