Job Summary:

As a Field Equipment Specialist at Gregory Poole Equipment Company, you will be responsible for performing major repairs to material handling equipment in the field to meet customer satisfaction. This role requires advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, including transmissions, engines, and hydraulics, for various model lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review work schedules, check equipment and supplies, and prepare for duties
• Troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, and other components using repair manuals and parts diagrams
• Load service trucks with necessary parts and equipment
• Use hand and power tools to remove, install, and repair parts and equipment
• Perform safety checks on equipment and use miscellaneous resources to reference parts and enter data into record systems

Requirements:

• High school education or GED
• Six years of experience with at least two years on Hyster, Yale, Clark, or similar equipment
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, including transmissions, engines, and hydraulics, for various model lines
• Ability to lift and position parts up to 95 pounds and use mechanical hoists for heavier parts
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Additional Requirements:

• Valid state driver's license and safe driving record
• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or DOT medical certification, depending on the position
• Ability to operate an assigned service vehicle and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues

Work Environment:

This role requires frequent travel to customer sites, where you will be responsible for performing repairs and providing excellent customer service. You will work independently with minimal supervision and be required to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
