Job Description

The Manager, Institutional Giving will play a key role in preparing foundation, corporate, and government grants and reports. This individual will gather information from various departments and work closely with the Development team to develop a strategic plan for foundation giving. The Manager will also lead the preparation and writing of government proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and discretionary opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strategic plan for foundation giving in collaboration with the Development team
  • Lead the preparation and writing of government proposals in response to RFPs and discretionary opportunities
  • Write foundation and other proposals and reports in a style consistent with Graham Windham materials
  • Contract with and oversee consultants in the writing, editing, and timely submission of grant proposals
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to gather necessary data for proposals and reports
  • Work closely with the fiscal team to develop proposal budgets and reports
  • Familiarize yourself with grant guidelines and collaborate with initiative leaders to develop proposal content, prepare required attachments, and submit proposals in advance of deadlines
  • Conduct research on prospective foundation and corporate funders
  • Establish effective working relationships with grantors and participate in foundation site visits as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in grants management and grant writing
  • Experience writing proposals in response to government RFPs
  • Professional experience in youth development, workforce development, community organizing, family support preferred
  • Experience achieving fundraising results
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
