Tempe, Arizona, United States Amazon Full time

Are you skilled in securing and sustaining IT compliance certifications within a dynamic organization? Do you possess experience in conducting both internal and external IT audits and evaluations? If you view regulatory compliance as a strategic advantage, then the Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) teams at Amazon are seeking a dedicated Compliance Analyst to join our Security, Compliance, Privacy, & Trust (SCPT) unit. This role will involve supporting information security compliance self-assessments, coordinating remediation initiatives with service teams, and overseeing third-party assessment objectives (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF, etc.).

As a member of our elite security team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our services align with global security and privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the control environment to gain a comprehensive understanding of control implementation and communicate compliance implications to both internal and external audit functions.
  • Enhance documentation processes, coordinate improvement initiatives, and assess the effectiveness of process enhancements.
  • Engage with organizational frameworks for managing changes to the control environment and external industry standards; document organizational control activities and verify control readiness for audits.
  • Acquire extensive domain and technical knowledge in AWS and Amazon corporate security solutions that bolster compliance programs.
  • Facilitate communication and drive continuous improvements within the security organization, program management processes, and control implementation projects in collaboration with service teams. This includes addressing audit findings and executing projects stemming from internal assessments.
  • Gather evidence to support audit engagements and foster relationships with ISO/SOC2 auditors and Amazon service teams, articulating control implementation and implications while considering security, privacy, and compliance concepts in a technical cloud environment.
  • Utilize a solid understanding of commercial information security and privacy regulations to communicate customer and control impacts and ensure alignment with controls.

A Day in the Life:

As part of the SCPT team, you will create connections between security, technology, operations, and compliance by collaborating directly with our in-scope service teams, infrastructure teams, corporate security teams, and third-party assessors.

About the Team:

Buy with Prime is transforming the shopping experience for customers everywhere. This innovative approach extends Prime shopping benefits—including fast, free shipping, a seamless checkout experience, and free returns—to merchants' own online stores, ultimately enhancing selection for Prime members.

For over two decades, Amazon has empowered businesses with opportunities for growth. Buy with Prime represents an exciting advancement in our mission to assist merchants of all sizes in expanding their business—whether on Amazon or beyond.

MCF serves as a third-party logistics (3PL) solution, enabling merchants to utilize Amazon's fulfillment network and expert team to efficiently pick, pack, ship, and deliver customer orders from off-Amazon sales channels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in security or commercial compliance roles within complex cloud service environments, or experience as an IT auditor supporting ISO 27001 and SOC 2 assessments.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Informatics, or related fields.
  • Certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).
  • Proven experience in communicating audit/assessment outcomes and remediation plans to stakeholders, prioritizing and addressing findings with service/system owners.
  • A strong technical background with experience in cloud technologies, deployment models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), and familiarity with AWS core services (Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, DDB, KMS, etc.).
  • Experience collaborating with auditors/regulators for compliance assessments.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, Certified Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent.
  • Experience in scoping and leading organizational risk assessments and documenting risk treatment strategies.
  • Background in privacy compliance consulting, control audits, or advisory roles.
  • Experience engaging with software development teams to define technical security specifications that meet control requirements and monitoring progress from development to release.
  • Proven ability to develop certification roadmaps based on customer requirements and compliance documentation, ensuring timely delivery of assessments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, such as Asana and ServiceNow.
