Position Overview
- The role involves managing commitments that primarily involve average to high levels of risk, complexity, and difficulty. Key responsibilities include:
- Enhancing the risk outcomes and quality of the credit portfolio under your management.
- Striking a balance between risk and return considerations.
- Conducting timely, precise, and independent evaluations of the financial and economic conditions of individual borrowers and borrowing entities, including the analysis of annual financial statements and relevant industry segments.
- Assessing the value of collateral and ensuring proper documentation.
- Establishing ratings in a consistent and risk-sensitive manner, adhering to applicable guidelines, and making adjustments as necessary.
- Providing guidance and support to the market unit during internal exposure discussions.
- Engaging in customer meetings as needed and maintaining regular communication for risk-critical or complex credit structures.
- Reviewing contract documentation, particularly credit and collateral agreements, to ensure compliance with decisions made, especially regarding restrictive provisions and covenants.
- Identifying and proactively addressing risks, maintaining accurate data in the Early Warning Tool (EWT) and/or Credit Watchlist.
- Collaborating with other credit officers to ensure a consistent and clear credit policy.
- Monitoring and reporting on any deterioration in creditworthiness, and coordinating with Intensive Treatment units as per guidelines.
- Informing the Group Head or Head of Department about any process disruptions or significant issues.
- Adhering to Service Level Agreements regarding quality and quantity.
- Ensuring data integrity, particularly concerning regulatory requirements.
- Fostering knowledge transfer and team collaboration.
- Assisting senior management with risk management tasks, including portfolio analysis.
- Acting as a mentor or trainer for junior staff during internal training sessions.
- Reviewing daily and weekly overdraft reports and addressing any violations.
- Following up on conditions and their fulfillment.
- Managing special projects, including audit preparations.
- Performing additional responsibilities as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Several years of experience in analyzing and making decisions on credit exposures within corporate lending, complemented by specialized training.
- Strong background in finance and accounting.
- Proficient in financial modeling, projections, and sensitivity analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field; MBA or CFA is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of legal and tax implications in the credit sector.
- Broad knowledge of business management and industry analysis.
- Extensive familiarity with various financial products.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
