Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned credits and take thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and research impact
  • Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis and at rating committees
  • Build and maintain high-quality relationships with firms' senior management, intermediaries, and other external stakeholders
  • Write in-depth, high-quality, insightful, and focused research on credit trends, specific issuers, or banking industry trends
  • Enhance Moody's franchise and thought leadership for banks and non-banks finance entities through active interaction with intermediaries and participation in high-profile events
  • Coach and develop junior analysts; provide feedback on performance
  • Participate in key divisional and cross-line of business initiatives

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background, at least equivalent to an MBA/CFA
  • 15+ years of assessing all aspects of financial institutions' risk - capital, asset quality, liquidity, funding, and sensitivity
  • Extensive understanding of the US banking and bank regulation as well as well-rounded understanding of financial markets
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with public speaking experience
  • Strong quantitative and proven analytical skills - including demonstrated work with financial and economic data to inform research and analysis of banks
  • Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
